The materials of the article consider design characteristics horizontal steam generators PGV-1000 for WWER NPPs. NPP generator, in particular is a specific heat exchange unit. This unit, together with nuclear reactor and turbine, one main equipment multi-circuit (double-circuit) turbine generator produces working using dissipated from core by cooling medium sent to surface generator. generators, connecting contours coolant substance, equally belong each them. heat-absorbing substance (water, steam). type pressurized water reactors produce dry saturated steam. requirement maintain high purity due transfer surfaces such made austenitic stainless steel electropolished surfaces. do not allow boil core, so temperature at outlet (at inlet generator) always lower than saturation corresponding pressure circuit. Underheating (approximately 25 ÷ 30 °С) guarantees exclusion vaporization even most loaded channels. modern as various modifications provide technical economic performance units WWER-1000 maintainability, which allows extend service life domestic
